The Jakob Collection is a private collection of contemporary art. In various fields of tension between painting, sculpture, photography, installation and media art, the Jakob Collection examines current contemporary art on a regional and international level. The collection currently comprises 45 artistic positions in around 100 works. The collection is constantly being expanded with new acquisitions of contemporary art.
The focus is on painting, installation and media art from Berlin from the 2000s onwards. The focus is on works that deal with the effects of acting, feeling and living together in a digitally influenced present.
The aim of the collection is to continuously expand, maintain and preserve its holdings. The exhibits are made accessible to the public in regular themed exhibitions. Parts of the collection are on permanent display in the private home and can be viewed by prior appointment.
